Summer is just around the corner, and it's the perfect time for us to add a few wedding planning tips we think might help your special day go off without a hitch. Most of the U.S. is expecting long hot summer days, which while they might seem ideal for your wedding day, do come with a few special problems worth thinking about. Here are five of our favorite wedding ideas to help keep things running smoothly.

1. It's All About Hydration

Summer weather and wedding gowns and suits can make for a very challenging situation in the heat. One of the most important wedding planning tips is to make sure everyone stays hydrated. The best way to do this is to make sure you have plenty of water on hand. You can use bottled water from your local store but cut off the original label and print labels with something along the lines of "Thank you for being a part of our special day – John and Jane" on them. Waterproof labels are best as you can put the decorated bottles in tubs of ice.

2. Consider Cooler Attire

When the heat is on, the last thing you want is for someone to pass out because their wedding clothes are too hot. For the bride gown, our favorite wedding idea would be to ditch the heavy silk gown and opt for something a little lighter like chiffon or cotton organdy. For the groom and groomsmen, leave the tux at home and go for suits made of linen or seersucker. Both materials breathe better and will help keep the guys cooler.

3. Consider Renting a Tent

If you plan to have your wedding outdoors (who doesn't in summer?), rent a pavilion-sized tent. They come in a range of sizes and shapes and provide plenty of shade for your guests. Many rental companies offer fans or air conditioners to help keep everyone cool when the sun is trying to melt your makeup from your face.

4. About That Makeup

This may be one of our most important wedding ideas. When the weather is hot and humid, it can literally melt your makeup and leave it running from your face and onto your gown. Look for powdered makeup instead of liquid types. There are several brands available that are sweat- and waterproof. These will help the bride stay looking amazing no matter what the weather does.

5. An After-Dinner Chiller

Another of our favorite wedding planning ideas is to serve your guests with small bowls of ice cream or gelato after dinner. Perhaps if your neighborhood has an ice cream truck, contact them ahead of time and arrange to have them at your wedding reception to serve your guests. Be sure you make payment arrangements up front for anything your guests consume. Not only will this help keep everyone cooled down, they get to choose their favorites and have a lot of fun at the same time.

When the summer sun is beating down, finding ways to help keep everyone in the wedding party and your guests cooled down is sure to make your special day fun and far more comfortable. There are many ways to beat the summer heat, but these are some of our favorites.  Visit Wedding Sparklers Outlet for more great ideas.
